: My great grandfather, John Clark Tomlin, according to
: the 1880 Census of Montgomery County, Alabama Beat 8
: was born in Georgia to a North Carolina born father &
: a Georgia born mother. He was 22 or 23 at time of census. He married by great grandmother, Roxie Catherine Jackson in 1879. My grandfather, Roy Laitten
: Tomlin was born June 29, 1881. I understand John Clark
: Tomlin died when Roy Laitten Tomlin was very young.
: My great grandmother married J. C. Conner in
Montgomery County in 1888. The family
: moved to Texas unsure of when. My grandfather married
: Hattie Bell Duke in Texas. They had 5 boys, Clarke
: Milford, Clifton Leroy, Orion Laitten,Ross Lee and
: Onis Buford. My grandfather was in an explosion at
: Magnoia Oil Refinery (now Exxon Mobil) in 1920 in Beaumont,Texas and: died the following day. My father was about 13 at the
: time. The Tomlin family origins are very vague. I can't go back before John Clark Tomlin. Can anyone
