I am searching Holmeses from Roland Augustus Holmes, b. Canada in he middle 1800s, moved to New York state, married minnie Turner of northern New York, had one son, James Carlisle, and one daughter Mildren Sophia (who married Carleton Harvey Davis) James Carlisle was my father - m to alice Detzel of Utica NY. I had one brother, Roland W. Holmes, m. to Dorothy Kaido, Utica, NY. I would greatly appreciate any info as to Roland A.'s ancestors - they would be Canadian. thanks
