Hi Karl, Chris & Ray
You must be a long lost cousins. My Great Grandmother was born Margaret Wallace Kirkwood Oetegenn in Milngavie, in the year 1891. She came from a family of 16 children. Her father was Charles Armand Oetegenn & Margaret Kirkwood. Charles was born in Liverpool around 1847. His parents were Herman Oetegenn & Caroline Bradshaw. Herman's parents were Albert & Alka Oetegenn. That's as far as I have gotten. My relatives have always said that Herman came from Hamburg, Germany. E-mail if you'd like to find out more. By the way I live in Vermont in the US. My Grandmother came from Greenock when she was 6. Her family settled in Massachusetts.
