Toomath was a soldier with William III, Prince of Orange from Holland, possibly from eastern Europe (Latvia) Name Tumasz or similar, and was granted land in Ireland (presumably in the county of Fermanagh (pronounced Fur-manner) after being wounded in either the battle of the Boyne (1690) or the battle of Belleek (6 May 1689).

One of Richard's ancestors belonged to Dian L.O.L. No. 1, the first lodge in Ireland. Richard, my grandfather, came to Canada on in the C.P.R. Steamer Marburn in 1923. While in Ireland he was a manger or partner at Milligen & Co. Ltd. Belfast, coal merchants.

Richard Toomath was born on 25 Jan 1864 in County Down Ireland. He died on 26 Jul 1958 in Toronto,Ontario,Canada. He married Annie Goudy on 6 Aug 1914 in Ireland. He had 25 children: 14 children by his first wife Anna: 9 Boys - James, William, Sammuel, David, Richard, Joseph (3 died in infancy); 5 Girls - Ada, Pat, Emma, Jean and Evelyn; 1 by his second, a girl: Dorothy or Delores known as Dollie & 10 by his last wife Annie (nee Goudy); 3 boys - Hugh (AKA Ernie) Andrew & John; and 7 girls: Margaret, Annie, Maureen, Doreen, Rubina, Eileen & Sylvia.
Sylvia Joan Toomath was born on 4 Jan 1934 in Toronto,Ontario,Canada. She is my mother.
Thomas, Walter Walker was born on 10 Feb 1931 in Toronto,Ontario,Canada. He married Sylvia Joan Toomath on 28 Sep 1957 in Toronto,Ontario,Canada. He is my father.
I - Brian Douglas Walker - was born on 18 Sep 1959 in Toronto,Ontario,Canada.
