An obituary for my great great grandfather, Thomas Mitchell, indicates that he was born in
Penobscot (town or county?) in about1795. His father was a sea captain, but no name is given. He
had four sons, William, Samuel (my great grandfather), Thomas J., and Christopher. Thomas died
in Elk Rapids Michigan and his son, Samuel, moved to Minnesota. Any information on Thomas's
parents will be greatly appreciated.
