Hello There,
I have been researching my family ancestors now for the last 5 years, have only got back to the late 1700's and early 1800's. The surnames that I am researching are as follows :-
WARD, WOLFENDALE, CHAPMAN, GERRARD, LOMAX, LYNCH, FORREST and LEYLAND.
Now the WARD's are from the Smethwick, Warwickshire area, possibly Wolverhampton! I need more information on Edward Ward, born about 1863 - died about 1909, he was married to Polly, surname unknown, they had a son named Harold Edward Ward born 1891, who married a Florence May Ward, born 1890 died 5/6/1967
The WOLFENDALE's came from the Bolton area of Lancashire, William Wolfendale born 1845 died 6/11/1920 was born at Bolton, he married a Mary GERRARD born 1844 died 13/1/1900 also from Bolton. They had a few children, one being William born 1/5/1883 died 16/1/1955 he married a Harriet CHAPMAN and moved to Bury, Lancashire. Harriet parents were - Thomas Edward CHAPMAN born about 1850 died 15/5/1919, and Mariah BARLOW born about 1857 died 4/9/1930.
The LOMAX's came from Salford, Manchester, and I am stuck on this link as I cannot trace links to Thomas LOMAX born about 1866 died 11/11/1937 he was born in Salford, but I cannot seem to find links to his parents, he married a Catherine LYNCH, who we know was from the Tipperary area of Ireland, she was born in 1880 and died 1920, unable to trace any of her ancestors, thought to have had a sister called Sophia
FORREST family name comes from St. Helens, Lancashire. Furthest I have got so far is Thomas FORREST born 1872 died 1/7/1916 in the battle of the Somme, he is burried in the wargraves in France. He married a Mary Ann LEYLAND born 1873 died 19/6/1955.
Do hope somebody may be able to help me with any links to any of these family's, and hopefully some of the above may help you in your research.
You can contact me by e-mail - wardpetris@aol.com
All the best to everyone, and good luck in your researching.
Peter.
