My Grandfather, Thomas Franklin Gilbert, was born about 1848, in IND. or MO. His parents were ,James Gilbert, and Elizabeth ? I heard they were from OHIO,then moved into IND, then MO. where James was killed, and Elizabeth died. There were four children James, William, Thomas, and a daughter Mary Jane, called Molly. William, and James, went into the Northern Army, (Civil War) and never returned, They were five and ten years older than Thomas. Thomas joined as a flag carrier, or drummer, at a very young age. When he returned the foster family that raised him either moved away or died. Molly was raised in Clay Co. MO.with a foster family, no one knows the name of the family. They lived close to the," Dalton's" so the story goes. She married Dr. Benjamin Tinsley, and lived with him in the Inidan Terratory for over 40 years. They died there.

No one knows anything about the family. I have talked and visited almost all of them that I could find. No one knows any thing more than I do.

Where is that paper trail, the past can't be hidden that well. CAN IT????

Some one in Ohio, IND, or MO. must have been related, if so PLEASE contact me.
