I know Jean George came to Canada On the Speedwell in 1753 Iknow that he was born in 1708 .,I know that he was married to a gal named Jeannie who he brought with him. But I would like to make a conection to his & jeannies families before leaving on the Speedwell. my aunt lived to be 100 years old and maintained that we were from scotish Decend .although our last spelling of our name is french.But is believed that we were Bensons and with different pronounceations/regions the spelling and sound of the name changed how can I trace this ? its crests, scroll, links? yours tryrly Shirley Can you help.
