my grand father William Rowe is the only living relative we have with the last name Rowe. to his knowledge his father dissapeared before he was 1 years old. I know nothing about the family name other wise. My grandfather was from West Philadelphia, 40th and Lancaster Ave area to be exact. his mothers last name was McElhaney... jus wondering if you knew anything of the sorts.

: My grandfather was Thomas Francis Rowe and he lived in the West Philadelphia area. He came to the U.S. from Ireland with his mother and 13 brother and sisters. Half of them were Rowes and the other were half brothers and sisters with the last name of Tallon. His mother was Delia Rowe Tallon or Delia Tallon Rowe. I'm not sure if she was a Tallon or a Rowe first. Her first husband died and at that time she had 7 children. She married in Ireland and had 7 more children with her second husband.
