: Hello!
: My Grandmother was called Ada Manttan. She lived in Coventry but came originally from nearby Warwick. She had a brother Charles who was killed in World War one. Ada died in 1926, in her late thirties I think. If you have any family tree information on Manttans from this area and this time period, I would love to know!

Hello Jan:
My family originated in Warwick in England and I have a lot of info, especially on the lot that migrated to Australia( my ancestors).
The only ADA I have amongst over a thousand names was (I think) a Manttan by marriage to a Ronald who was born in the early 1900's. I don't believe it is 'your' Ada. I do have several Charles's but would need more info to see if we can connect.
Can you give me your Grandmother's parent's full names? or any other info that may help the link.
If she came from Warwick, I have no doubt we are related somewhere. The name was originally spelt MANTON which was a very common name in Warwick apparently, and a few of the family several generations back changed the spelling to Manttan.
Anyway, hope to hear from you.
Terry Manttan
