Hello,

This probably does not help much, but it just so happens that *my* father is a John William Suggitt, born somewhere around 1914-1920. I believe that *his* father was also a John William. They lived in Cleckheaton in Yorkshire, though my father left there in 194x to join the RAF (where he met his future wife).

There is also some talk of 'someone who moved to Canada' but I dont recall the details.

I was at the science museum in London last month... they have a display that lets you enter your family name.. it then displays a map showing the locations where the name occurs. I believe they use a current electoral role, and Victorian census information (1880 or there abouts). The 1880 display shows that just about *all* the Suggitt's were in North Yorkshire.

Regards
Richard Suggitt
