: We are doing research of our Harper family roots.
: We have gotten as far back as my gr. gr. grandfather,
: William Harper who was born in Butler County Ohio in 1821 and moved to Indiana- Warren County- where he
: married Emma Clark who was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1820. William and Emma were married in 1843. From Indiana they moved to Linn County Iowa in Bertram Twonship. Apparently William had a business with a Mr.
: Brown in Cedar Rapids. William also had a farm.
: William and Emma had a large family but only three of their children lived. Those were sons. Edward Taylor Harper, Amos C. Harper and Perrin Kent Harper (my gr
: grandfather). Looking for any family connections or any one who know the history of William Harper. Apparently,
: he was a prominent member of the Methodist church,
: a member of the school board and held other town offices. Any help would be appreciated. Some of this Harper family are buried in Campbell Cemetery in BertramTownship, Iowa. We think William's parents may have been James Harper and Susan Clem
but we cannot find any documentation to prove that.
