My father was born in Hull, England May 20, 1903 to Alice Maud Smith. His Uncle on his mothers side was Leslie Wilberforce Smith, A direct descendant of William Wilberforce the fighter against slavery in the British colonies. Dads Uncle Leslie had him put into Dr. Bernardos homes in England as dads mother died very early in life. The possible name of my dads father was Arthur Waites.He also had Uncles Richard & Alfred Smith, Aunts Olive, Patience, Hilda, and Polly Smith. Dads name was William Edward Smith.
