Hi Pamela,

My name is Bernardine Dowdall and I am e mailing on behalf of my mother Patricia Brady who doesn't have access to the internet.

She too is trying to trace her family tree and believes she may have a lot of information that will be of use to you. Below I have typed out exactly what she has asked me to.

'My father was Francis, my grand father was Thomas who had a brother Francis. My grandfather Thomas married Grace Fullerton 17/07/1908 in St Anthony's Govan Glasgow.

My great grand father Thomas (junior) said some of his family emigrated to America in the late 1800's. They were seemingly horse dealers. In my own research I've aquired some parochial lists and dates of other McAcatamneys who may be connected. The only relations I have here on the McAtamney side are Eugene, Hugh, and Pat McShane. Their mother was Mary Kate McAtamney who married Paddy McShane.

My grandfather Thomas (junior) was a full cousin of Mary Kate who's father was Eugene McAtamney. As far as I know, Mary Kate had a half sister who stayed in Lurgan Co Armagh. She married a ? Martin and her daughter Maggie (who is still alive) told me she was reared by a Felix McAtamney.

I have parochial lists from Lurgan Co Armagh that contain information regarding Felix Leo among others. My great grandfather Thomas (senior) married to Mary Fallon 6/12/1875 in Lurgan Co Armagh may have had brothers Henry, Francis, James (Patrick) and possible Mary. Henry was the witness at their wedding, although still checking this. I think that Miles Haughey would be interested too.

My great grandfather Thomas (senior) and Mary were witnesses at James and Margaret Sheridan's (or Harkins) wedding, 27/12/1886, St Anthony's in Govan.
They were also god parents to James McAtamney married to Susan Lennon, first child Mary 4/12/1882.

I am still searching for proof of my great grand fathers brothers and sisters.'

I know this is a lot of information to take in at once but I hope it can be of interest. My mother has tried to contact you before, through a different website, but to no avail. Can you please acknowledge this e mail and perhaps provide me with your address. My mother would dearly love to write to you.

Hope to hear from you soon,
Bernardine Dowdall.
