My name is Eric Iwers and I live in Germany. My family come from Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany. My brother is actually called Thomas Iwers. We believe to have lived in northern Germany or southern Denmark for Generations. My father actually traced back the family tree for a couple of generations. I never listened carefully to his stories. There was something about three generations being all builders in Oldenburg/Holstein. What I do know is that my great-grandfather was a Headteacher in Flensburg on the German/Danish border. I have never heard about relatives which immigrated to the USA in the 19th century. The name Iwers is commonly found throughout the scandanavian nations, and is a shortening of Iwerson (Iwer's son).

When you are interested, I will try and forward a copy of the family tree compiled by my father.

Good luck in your search, Eric Karl Iwers
