I hope someone can help me. I have been searching unsucessfully for several years to find information on my grandfathers family. My grandfather was Henry Gillon born abt 1889 in Polkville KY, to James Knox Gillon(born abt 1850)and Sarah E Lothridge(born abt 1860). I discovered a copy of a birth certificate with this information. My father tells me my grandfather always said he was from Alabama, however I find no information to support this. I know he had four siblings, but only know one to be Kate Spann. She was born in 1896, married a Nashville TN police officer and died in 1971. My grandfather served in WWI for the US army. I have written to them twice now for records as I have been told he received medals that we do not have and thought I could get info on him that way but have had no response in the last 20 months from them. I hope someone may know of a link. My great grandparents were from Barren and Warren counties KY according to the birth certificate and I have located a death certificate on James Gillon in Bowling Green KY. Any and all help certainly appreciated!
