William A. Martin was born in Emanuel County Ga. about 1850. He was the son of James Martin born 1804 and Harriet? born 1809 bothborn in S.C. or Ga. William had 10 siblings. they were Mary b.1824,Sarah 1827,Elizabeth 1832,James A.J. 1835,Susanna 1837, Isaac 1839, Nelson 1845, John E. 1845, Dennis 1847,Dealpha 1849. William married Mary (Mollie)Ellen Woodard b. 1856.They had at least 5 children and my father was the youngest. He was Ira Ambrose Martin born Aug. 25,1888. He died 2 yrs. after I was born 8/4/1934
