: There was a Reuben Hale/Hail born 1831 in Smith CO TN. Is this the one you are looking for? He married Catherine Vantrease. He served in the Civil War in the Union Army. Another Reuben Hail was born 1802 in Tennessee(perhaps in Smith CO TN.) I hope that this helps you. brian I am working on the Hale name. My gr.gr.grandfather was Bennett Hale. He was b. 1808 Tn. died 1864 Wayne Co., Tn. He was married 1830 in McNairy Co., Tn. by a
: William Hale, MG.

: By 1830 Census he was living in Hardeman Co., Tn. next door to a Emanuel Hale, which I think was his brother.

: Bennett moved to Wayne Co., Tn. and is listed on deeds and other records with a Reuben Hale, which I also believe was a brother. This was in the late part of 1840's.

: I lost Reuben after that. I was told that Bennett was the son of Nathaniel Hale of Hawkins Co., Tn. Nathaniel was son of Thomas Hale. That Reuben C. Hale was brother of Bennett and he died in Bedford Co., Tn. with wife Harriet. I have not been able to
: find any proof of this. I am trying to find a connection to them all. The Reuben in Wayne Co. did not have a middle name on any of the records.

: Any help on this family would be so appreciated.
