I've searched book after book, and finally gave up and decided to come right to the best source. Please answer my question; a big bet rides on it. How would I be related to a person whose grandfather is a brother to my grandfather? If our parents are first cousins to each other, wouldn't that make my parent a first cousin once-removed to said person and me a second cousin to this person? Others say no, we are third or fourth cousins. Could someone who knows more about geneology than me help me win this bet? Thanks!
