am searching for my gfil who is a mystery and does not seem to want to be found.His first wife had six children-my fil Yankel(Louis)"Anna"Benjamin, Harry, Irving and Abraham and settled In either Manhattan, Bronx or Brooklyn for the rest of his life.
On Yankels Manifest, it stated that he lllived at 20 Canal, Manhattan(wrong addresse) and that he was the payee of the fare.
I thought that meant he came abt three or four years before his children or wife came over which would mean 1903.I check and had a look up check,no luck,I finally send away to the Allen Kibrary, Wayne, In for information.Three or four items stated the year as 1904. Yankel came in Sept.1, 1906
The second problem that I'm having is finding his second family. I know that he had four children,two girls-two boys by her but that is all that I know. The story is that "Anna" told her brothers that if they had anything to do with their father-that she would disown him. A few saw him behind her back.
The first wifes name was Fannie Seolin...Before they came here-they lived in Polotsk,Belarus.
