In doing geneology serches for ancestors on my father's side, I hit a blank wall because my granfather, Karl Rose, immigrated to the U.S. in the mid 1880's. No previous history of him is known. He is believed to be from an area called Altfelde, Holland, Prussia, but no one seems to know anything about this area. Any help would be appreciated. He was married to Wilhelmina Zoike, whose history has also yet to be discovered.
