Searching for a John Wilks Denton the 2nd. He was B. in about 20 miles "S" of San Antonio,Tx March 2, 1860. His grf. was sopposed to have been in area in 1830's, and had a land grant. John W. the 1st.- wife unknown-and 3 or 4 sons were killed on range tending to cows. Left John W.2nd. a orphan when he was abt. 8. Sent to uncle in Ariz.?? until he was old enought to take over ranch?? Next hear about him at abt. 33 yrs of age when he married my grm. Oaka Stipe in S. D. in 1897 where her father had a ranch. In 1906 or 7 they left Wash. and went to Ark. to look at some land. They had left 4 children in Wash. with Oaka's mother. My Father(John W.3rd.) was born in Benton Co. Ark. in 1907. They returned to wash. had 2 more children then were divorced. He was sopposed to have known a lot abt. horses(I suspect he stole a few), came and went whenever he wanted. My grm. said they never ate thier own beef???? Anyone knowing abt.He spent quite a few years in Canada after the divorce.Anyone with any knowledge abt. this man please contact me.
